Brett Ian Balogh is a Chicago-based artist making sculptural, aural and cartographic explorations of the electromagnetic landscape. Current inquiries revolve around the relationships between energy, materials and communications. Brett is an Associate Professor, Adj. in the Art and Technology / Sound Practices and Liberal Arts Departments at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He teaches courses in physics, sound and electronic and biological communications. Brett is a free103point9 transmission artist and has exhibited at the Venice Biennale, P.S.1, Diapason, Devotion Gallery, The MCA and The Hyde Park Arts Center and elsewhere. Brett has taught numerous workshops in do-it-yourself electronics and broadcast, the latest being the Wilderness Wireless Workshop taught as a Summer intensive at Studio Weise7 and Protest Bar taught at both the Radical Networks and Our Networks Conferences in 2019.
